Toyota's i-swing

i-swing_thumb__toyota01.jpgTechnological advancements are good. They help us develop faster and more powerful cars…and now even these “fast cars” are fuel efficient. Also there are improvements in other fields like personal safety and a number of add-ons that make these cars enjoyable. But there is a point when it just starts getting ridiculous, and this is one of those things. The Toyota i-swing is not technically a car but really a substitute for walk…yes walking! Why would anyone make such a ridiculous unit? Not don’t go telling me that it might be useful for the old or the sick, we have wheelchairs for that! Look like it is the day and age of dumb ideas like this at the Horntones.

However, for arguments sake I could list a few features of the i-swing. This new transport unit comes with a joystick to navigate and can also be navigated by body weight (something like skier). The i-swing can operate in a two-wheeled mode that takes up little space, so that it is possible to travel while keeping pace and talking with someone on foot. Now why would you do that? Why not just walk?

Apparently the AI of the i-swing learns about the owners preferences over a time period of usage…total waste of effort, money and technology. My suggestion, don’t waste you money! Walk! 10,000 steps a day will even save you the bill for a heart surgeon.
