- Toyota's i-swing
Technological advancements are good. They help us develop faster and more powerful cars…and now even these “fast cars” are fuel efficient. Also there are improvements in other fields like personal safety and a number of add-ons that make these cars enjoyable. But there is a point when it just starts getting ridiculous, and this is one of those things. The Toyota i-swing is not technically a car but really a substitute for walk…yes walking! Why would anyone make such a ridiculous unit? Not don’t go telling me that it might be useful for the old or the sick, we have wheelchairs for that! Look like it is the day and age of dumb ideas like this at the Horntones.

"Everything from design to production methods will be radically changed and we are thinking of a really ultra-low-cost way of designing, using ultra-low-cost materials, even developing new materials if necessary," he said.

- Subaru selling made-to-order, race-ready rally cars
It’s all about sports for some people and then may it be Motorsports or simply motors-related sports, companies are cashing in on the opportunity. Some are like the Suzuki Blizzard Grand Vitara made for specially snow sports and include custom racks for all the snow equipment you would need on your ride…while some like this Subaru ready-race-rally cars provide the sports themselves. Subaru Australia will be offering these rally-cars in various packages based on the Impreza WRX STI spec.C – the Group N FIA homologated car developed by Fuji Heavy Industries in Japan.

- Fusion Ads Take On Accord, Camry
Ads or advertisements are something that display a product, in this case cars, to the public so people know what are the good points or the uniqueness in these vehicles. Recently however ads are being used in a…different way. Like the ad-wars between BMW-Audi-Subaru and this one between Ford Fusion against the Accord and Camry. Now, I am all for the little competition but showing down another car just so yours looks better is bad sportsmanship in my opinion.

- Toyota creating alcohol detection system
People, more particular drivers are so utterly stupid and dumb at times that they need to be spoon-fed. If I had a quarter for every time the police or some welfare organization has advised drivers not to drink and drive I would have enough money to buy every car to be shown at the NAIAS in Detroit this January. “People just don’t listen” is what the many car companies have concluded and are starting to come up with new system for the driver’s safety. Toyota’s anti-drunk driver technology is one of those.

- Funny advertisement war

I have to say that this is possibly the most immature thing I have seen car companies do so far. But I must also admit that it’s the funniest advertisement war I have seen. It’s as if they are like fighting little kids trying to show-off whose toy is bigger and better. This war was started by BMW to which Audi replied and Subaru jumped in followed by Bentley Chairman’s last word…well technically a finger.

Global warming...there are programs warning us on the Discovery channel about the global warming phenomenon, National Geographic says the same thing over and over again and Animal planet shows us that we have one planet...a beautiful one at that, with diverse species and a whole lot to lose if we don't wake-up soon. The thing is, there is just one species on this planet that has the power to save and protect all the other species...and that's us. So I ask...what is being done about it? Carbon emissions, the leading cause for Greenhouse gases (GHGs) which cause global warming has to be looked into. This is where a carbon tax comes in...
