- Porsche profits $28,000 per car
-
A study shows that the German sports car maker Porsche makes an average profit of a whooping $28,000 for every vehicle it sells. That is a lot of money compared to the profits made per car by other companies like BMW with $3,200 per car, Audi with a less impressive $1,580, and Chrysler and Volkswagen earn just $900 and $400, respectively. As per the report by B&D Forecast Porsche’s overall earning were about $2.7 billion with sales of just 96,794 vehicles. Now, people have mixed views about this data. Some say that Porsche cars are beautiful and well made but over priced and that the company is just cashing in on the brand name. However, some say that it is what is expected considering the quality of work they provide. But not all car companies make money by selling car now, do they? What sells is the brand name, and what band more impressive than the Porsche…things like toys, car accessories, and video game licenses to name a few! What the report shows is the “overall” earning divided by the number of cars sold.
Well now that’s not so bad now is it? Not necessarily that all profit is obtained by selling when other means are available. Looks like, they just have good marketing skills when it comes to selling brand name.
