India and Portugal in latest F1 buzz

Formula_One_asia.jpgF1 races, the playground for all automobile giants to show off their technology and supremacy in the racing world, where it doesn’t matter either by an inch or by a mile, but what matters is, if you come first or not. It is a prestigious event to take part in or to simply host it, and now Bernie Ecclestone a well established name in the motor sport world is turning towards one of India’s largest city Delhi to host one such even.

With races already confirmed for venues like Turkey, Bahrain, Malaysia, Japan and China in the new seasons and more countries including Singapore, South Korea and now India determined to establish their own events, the number of Asian events would match the number of races in Europe. Portugal is also a likely choice to hold one such event as it did so during 1984 to 1997 but was withdrawn from due to the huge expense to modify the old track. However, it seems that the Portugal are determined to claim their stake in the calendar of F1 races and prepared to spend as mush as $250 million to upgrade the track.

Well…all things considered it sure will be good news for motor sport lovers in the subcontinent and even Portugal to see these races in the flesh…steel, if I have to be technical about it.
