- Dropping a 300lb. safe on a 1996 Buick LeSabre
-

The 1996 Buick LeSabre is a discontinued vehicle by Buick. It’s a 4-door sedan and is available in two models - Custom and Limited. The LeSabre comes with dual airbags, an anti-lock brake system (ABS), and child safety locks as standard safety features. It also includes a 4-speed automatic transmission, tinted glass, adjustable headrests, air conditioning, a theft-deterrent system and power door locks. Optional features include a keyless entry system, leather trim interior, and an AM/FM stereo cassette with CD player. A Grand Touring Package adds aluminum wheels, automatic level control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.Dropping a 300lb. safe on a 1996 Buick LeSabre
A 300lb. safe was dropped on a 1996 Buick LeSabre on the Late Show by David Letterman off the Ed Sullivan Theater. Apparently it was amusing as the audience seemed to be laughing at the joke as Pat Farmer dropped the safe. But I sort of lost track of this “joke” as in the end the Buick was totally crushed by the safe. It’s not like they were testing the dual airbags and what else did they expect…the safe to bounce back up?
The Buick as per its history seems to be an elegant full-size car of the Buick like and has been one of America’s best selling cars, which was taken out of production in 2005. So I would rule out insulting the car because it was sub-standard according to the market. And if some tells me dropping a heavy safe from a building on a car is funny…well lets just say I won’t be driving by the build in which he/she stays unless I have a trampoline on my roof. Now that would be funny. Oh well…all I can make of this “joke” is that its just another publicity gimmick and nothing else. If someone else can explain the humor in this u are most welcome to do so.
