New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Receives Environmental Certificate

Mercedes_Benz_C_Class01.jpgThere have been concerns regarding pollution from cars either in the form of hazardous emissions or fuel guzzlers which eat up the planets fossil fuel supplies. Many motor companies have come forward to minimize this damage by the introduction of hybrid cars, cars with more fuel efficient engines etc which include the Volt or even the solar powered car from Venturi. However, there hasn’t ever been a real certificate of sorts…until now.

The certification body of TÜV Süd Management Service GmbH has come up with this unique and one-of-a-kind environmental certificate which is given to a vehicle after comparing it against a strict list to check if the vehicle is environmental friendly. The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has become the world’s first vehicle to get this certificate. The car was checked against a list that confirms with ISO standard 14062 and checked for fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, selection of materials etc. this information has been summarized by the folks over at Benz and will be made available on the internet on January 19, 2007.

It’s a good thing that motor companies are paying more attention to the environment and making these excellent new cars. Now they also get bragging rights for all the hard work they put in for this.
