- EDAG LUV Concept
The EDAG LUV Concept was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show this March. The LUV stands for Luxury utility vehicle. The car however doesn’t look all that good to me. It looks very similar to a Mercedes-Benz GL and when you take a closer look you’ll see that it is in fact based on the Mercedes-Benz GL.

- Brabus Mercedes ML 63 Widestar
This car is by far one of the “bad boys” at the Geneva Auto Show this March. The Brabus Mercedes ML 63 Widestar has the looks which scream out “bad to the bone” and at the same time offer the flair and refinement that is expected from a Mercedes car. The car comes with a body kit that consists of add-on parts for the doors, and rocker panels.

- $150K Mercedes fails to deliver decent GPS navigation system
You would have expected something better from a Mercedes, especially when it comes at a price tag of $150K. The 510-horsepower Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG Roadster is car which not all can afford, but even for such a hefty price tag it fails to deliver a decent navigation system to its owner.

- 2008 Mercedes C-Class brochure leaked
Here are some spy shots of the new Mercedes C-Class from the official brochure that was leaked on the web. The vehicle is very similar to the S-Class in terms of some design cues and looks very elegant. It sports a prominent grille with a much larger emblem of the three pointed star. The Elegance range will however have a traditional grille with the emblem remaining on top of the bonnet.

- Video of the Mercedes-Benz Ocean Drive Concept
The stylist new concept from Mercedes-Benz called the Ocean Drive Concept is based on Mercedes S600 and is designed with the aim of reviving the tradition of convertibles in the luxury car segment. The S-Class convertible is 4-doors and is powered by a V12 from the S600 under the hood. Here is a video which was revealed at the NAIAS 2007 showing the design study of the car.

- New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Receives Environmental Certificate
There have been concerns regarding pollution from cars either in the form of hazardous emissions or fuel guzzlers which eat up the planets fossil fuel supplies. Many motor companies have come forward to minimize this damage by the introduction of hybrid cars, cars with more fuel efficient engines etc which include the Volt or even the solar powered car from Venturi. However, there hasn’t ever been a real certificate of sorts…until now.

- Mercedes unveils the four-door convertible
After been rumored for being in the works for over five months the new Mercedes S-Class convertible is not a rumor anymore. Mercedes has officially unveiled the all new S-Class convertible now called the Concept Ocean Drive. It is based on the Mercedes S600 and is designed with the aim of reviving the tradition of convertibles in the luxury car segment. The new Concept Ocean Drive is similar to the appearance to a traditional S-Class.

- Mercedes adds powerful S 420 CDI diesel to S-Class lineup

Mercedes has announced that it will be adding the S 420CDI diesel engine to its S-Class lineup for the coming model year. This new variant of the diesel is an eight cylinder model powered by a V8 CDI engine and develops 320hp with a maximum torque of 538 lbs-ft. The new engine can do 0 to 62mph in 6.6seconds and reaches 155mph (electrically governed).

- Mercedes dealers oppose Smart in America

Mercedes-Benz dealers urged DaimlerChrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche not to bring the Smart car to the United States, according to Doug Callahan, chairman of the Mercedes dealer council. Callahan told Auto News that the dealers are worried about Smart hurting the Mercedes-Benz image. We go the news last month that the DaimlerChrysler announced its plans to bring the Smart brand to the U.S. in 2008. There is no idea till about what sort of agreement will DaimlerChrysler make with its nervous dealers.

- Mercedes S-Class hybrid coming in 2008

There is news that says, DaimlerChrysler is preparing a hybrid version of its S-Class luxury sedan for sale in 2008. This inspiration came from Lexus which introduced the LS600h L at the 2006 New York auto show. However Mercedes is planning to offer a bit different product than its Japanese opponent. While on the other hand the LS600h L is pairing a 4.3L V8 with a pair of electric motors. Lexus also claims that the engine's power is equivalent to that of a 6.0-liter V12. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class hybrid will likely be a gentle hybrid. Both the Direct Hybrid and Bluetec Hybrid concepts shown at the 2005 Frankfurt motor were mild hybrids, meaning the electric motors only assist the engine, though the former paired its electric motor with a 3.5-liter gasoline engine and the latter used the 3.0-liter Bluetec diesel.

- 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR "722 Edition" unveiled

Mercedes has unveiled a new special edition SLR known as the "722 Edition." This special edition has an improved output of 650 horsepower, a tailor-made suspension configuration, and a decidedly sporty interior. This special edition is a honor by Mercedes-Benz to the unforgettable victory won by the British racing legend Stirling Moss and his co-driver Denis Jenkinson in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR with the starting number 722 (indicating a start time of 7.22 a.m.) at the Mille Miglia in 1955. The car is capable of reaching 0 to 62 mph in only 3.6 seconds, and 124 mph is reached in just 10.2 seconds. The maximum speed of this beauty is 209 mph.

- Mercedes offers special version of R-Class for hotels
Mercedes Car Group is offering Middle East hotels and airlines wishing to transport their clients in style special versions of the popular new six-seater R-Class Grand Sports Tourer. Engineers with Mercedes-Benz worked with the specific demands of the Middle East’s transportation requirements thus giving individual seats, elbow room and panoramic views. So if you happen to sit in the luxury version and that too in the second row, you can enjoy the CD/DVD player mounted in the rear centre console on seven inch LCD screens mounted into the back of the front seat headrests. The system comes with two headsets for complete privacy as well as an auxillary jack that can be used to plug in a games console. Measuring 5.157 m from nose to tail, the body of the new Mercedes-Benz R-Class has the dimensions of a luxury saloon but is considerably more spacious inside.

- 2007 Mercedes CL AMG package revealed

Year 2007 has got never ending list of surprises from Mercedes. Images have surfaced online of the 2007 Mercedes CL 600 AMG package. Please do not confuse with the forthcoming CL 65 AMG. This baby is a standard CL 600 with upgraded wheels, brakes, and a body kit. We believe that the kit will be available for the 2007 CL 500 and CL 600, however final details are not available yet.

- Mercedes Introduces Integrated Bluetooth Telephone Module
Mercedes introduces an accessory that will go together with some of their vehicles and will let you for an extremely suitable way to make calls from the car, hands and wire free. The gadget is fitted in the center console and will network with your cell phone along with all parts of the car. The system associates with your mobile phone by means of Bluetooth technology when the phone is within its range and thus allowing it to download all information from the SIM card and internal memory. Performing almost all functions of the cell phone using the integrated controls on the steering wheel and central display will just be a piece of cake. It also works with the audio system in the car. The model will first be a privilege for the Europeans; however it will arrive in States very soon.

- Car dealer sues Mercedes as $1.7 million CLK-GTR wont travel 10 blocks
LA based car dealer Mark Johnston bought the car of his dreams a Mercedes AMG CLK-GTR Limited Edition Roadster for $ 1.7 million. Only 5 of these speed machines were made and this baby had entered the Guiness book of records as the most expensive production car. Mr Johnston was the proud owner of the only CLK-GTR in North America. The silver AMG Roadster is a product of DaimlerChrysler’s long collaboration with H.W.A. and Mercedes-AMG, two German manufacturers of racing and high-end performance vehicles. But the car proved to be an expensive peice of scrap metal as after crusing in it for the first time after covering 10 city blocks the oil light came up which has not been fixed yet. After this the roadster’s transmission failed to shift properly. Additionally, the hydraulic jack system failed and the windows became unglued, Mercedes sent and engineer from Germany who dismantled the car and took with him a number of parts to Germany to never install them again.
