Lexus LF-A concept revealed

10-2009-lexus-lf-a-concept.jpgThe LF-A concept was revealed for the first time by the folks over at Lexus as the 2005 Detroit Auto Show. Now, the company has lifted the covers off the latest version which is very close to the production version of the vehicle and might even arrive as soon as a 2008 or 2009 model. From the photos of the car that have been released, if the production version really looks like that…then I have to say that Lexus has established yet another benchmark in car design.

Self-parking Lexus LS 460

Lexus-LS-460-sm.jpg
So how many of you dread the parallel parking test when getting your drivers license. I know I did, but nothing like a little practice to get it perfect. Along the same lines Lexus has now introduced the LS 460 Self-parking system for the lazy or maybe even for people with $ 73,000 and nothing to spend it on. The system by itself is ingenious and user friendly with a lot of hard work put in by the programmers and the designers but is simply a waste. Why? Well…it’s simple. If u can’t park a car I don’t want you driving on the roads and I doubt that even the DMV would want that.

Lexus off to a slow start in Japan

lexus.jpgLexus is powerful and sophisticated right from its debut in 1989. Lexus has successfully rivaled German luxury carmakers in the United States. In 1992, Lexus outsold Mercedes and BMW to become the number one luxury import and thus changing the luxury statement. According to the Asahi Shimbun newspaper there are three Lexus models whose sales are currently about 60 percent lower than the company's targets. In the first six months of 2006, Toyota sold 150,000 Lexus cars in America up six percent over the same period in 2005. However the sales ratio in Japan was a disappointing as only11,000 units during the same period, despite a recovering Japanese economy. Sales have been hurt partly by a large recall over defective seat belts, and delays related to the new LS sedan.

One futuristic feature that we found was its Dynamic Radar Cruise Control for those of you who are truly too relaxed while driving to worry with pushing the brake or gas at all when the cruise is on. This feature keeps a pre-set distance between you and the car in front of you and speeds up or slows down accordingly, returning to your intended speed when the car changes lanes.
