2008 Chevy Malibu exposed

Earlier General Motors had released a teaser of the 2008 Chevy Malibu. The car was to be completely unveiled at the North American International Auto Show at Detroit in January. But it seems that they couldn’t wait that long and now the veil has been lifted off the new Malibu. Here are some photographs of the new car.

The redesigned Malibu for the 2008 model year will be built on the revised version of the long-wheelbase Epsilon platform shared with the Saturn Aura and Pontiac G6. the car will be offered in three trim levels – LS, LT and the LTZ, powered by either a 164-horse 2.4L Ecotec or a 252 HP 3.6L V6 with VVT. The 2.4L four cylinder will be available for all three trim levels. As for the transmission the LTZ comes with GM's Hydra-Matic 6T40 6-speed automatic with wheel-mounted shift paddles and a four-speed automatic for the budget-minded LS and LT.
