- Fusion Ads Take On Accord, Camry
-
Ads or advertisements are something that display a product, in this case cars, to the public so people know what are the good points or the uniqueness in these vehicles. Recently however ads are being used in a…different way. Like the ad-wars between BMW-Audi-Subaru and this one between Ford Fusion against the Accord and Camry. Now, I am all for the little competition but showing down another car just so yours looks better is bad sportsmanship in my opinion.Ford Fusion - Fusion Challenge
Facts – Ford paid the Car Enthusiast Magazine to hold an event as a part of the new adverts-campaign that Ford started. Apparently 600 subscribers were involved that did a test drive on the Fusion, Accord and Camry. And many of these people had the same reaction that the Fusion was better than the Accord and the Camry. The results of this are available at www.fusionchallenge.com which will promote the ads. However, Ford does not provide all the scores from the event, such as those that showed the attendees felt that the Toyota and Honda were of higher quality and more acceptable to their peers.
Wonder why Ford has to resort to such unsportsmanlike like tactics. And if the Fusion is really that good why only 140,000 of it were sold where as 450,000 of the Camry were sold in the year. And I wonder if the other two cars – the Accord and the Camry were represented fairly in this “survey”.
Well…all scores apart, if any of you folks decide on buying any one of these cars I would advice its better to go out there and test drive them yourself, instead of relying on any “survey”.

I realize this post is a little late, but I keep seeing this ad on TV. Why is it that nobody is pointing out that the Fusion is AWD, while the Accord and Camry are obviously FWD? They show the people saying "Wow, it handles better than the Accord and Camry." Gee, an all-wheel drive car handles better than a front-wheel drive car - what a shock. If Ford re-ran the tests using a front-wheel drive Fusion, I can almost guarantee the Fusion would come in dead last.
