800HP Shelby Cobra sells for $5.5 million

Now here is car I can look at in awe…the 1966 Shelby Cobra “Super Snake” generating an awesome 800hp. It is a car which existed some 40 years ago and still has more horses compared to today’s Dodge Viper. This particular car once owned by Carol Shelby himself, was sold at auction for $5.5 million to the car collector Ron Pratt. The car was sold at the at the 36th Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction on Saturday.

The car comes with pair of supercharges on the 427 cubic inch V8 and a light-weight sports car chassis from the UK giving it the awesome power standing at 800hp. It can go from 0 to 60mph in just over three seconds…quiet an achievement for a car some 40 years ago!
