Ford’s Worst Year Ever

ford-logo.jpgI am no financial expert, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Ford is in deep trouble, especially when figures like these are on the record. Ford has suffered a $5.8 Billion Quarterly Loss, which is the worst ever! Ford Motor Co.'s fourth-quarter loss widened to $5.76 billion on plunging sales of pickups and sport- utility vehicles, capping the worst year ever for the 103-year- old company. This is a result of Ford vehicle sales, including passenger cars, which have fallen 8 percent for the year. Sales of Ford's F-Series pickups, the best-selling vehicle in the U.S., dropped 12 percent last year, and the Explorer SUV fell 25 percent. Ford has previously suffered a loss of $123 million in the second quarter.

This particular car once owned by Carol Shelby himself, was sold at auction for $5.5 million to the car collector Ron Pratt. The car was sold at the at the 36th Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction on Saturday.

Ford Airstream concept

Ford%20Airstream%2001.jpgFord has unveiled the Airstream concept and for some reason has called this the futuristic car. I for one have to disagree on that and say – there is nothing “futuristic” about the way it looks. In fact to be honest it looks very much old –school. It does however, have a hydrogen hybrid fuel cell powertrain. So what exactly was ford doing? Making a futuristic box-car with an old school disguise?

Fusion Ads Take On Accord, Camry

ford%20fusion.jpgAds or advertisements are something that display a product, in this case cars, to the public so people know what are the good points or the uniqueness in these vehicles. Recently however ads are being used in a…different way. Like the ad-wars between BMW-Audi-Subaru and this one between Ford Fusion against the Accord and Camry. Now, I am all for the little competition but showing down another car just so yours looks better is bad sportsmanship in my opinion.
