The BMW 335i coupe that went on sale in September 2006 is the latest chapter in the 3-series coupe book. However there are some radical changes in this one. The 335i will come equipped with a 3.0L twin-turbo inline-six with piezoelectric direct injection. It’s the first gasoline turbocharged BMW in decades. As per BMW claims the 335i will accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds.

Under the Hood
The 335i’s symmetrical turbo are relatively small, and each feeds three cylinders. Power output from this 3.0-liter is up only 45 horsepower over the naturally aspirated 3.0-liter found in the 330i sedan. Peak torque increases 36% to 300 lbs-ft and is available from 1400rpm to 5000rpm.

Exterior
There is a strong family resemblance between the current E90 sedan and the new coupe. However no sheet metal is shared between the two. The mirrors look similar to those of the outgoing E46 M3. The headlamps are standard xenon lights and referred to as angel eyes by BMW. The cars exterior is very elegant and sophisticated. It’s not too aggressive but has more of a business-class-car feel to it.

Interior

Interior
The coupes 4 passenger cabin is similar to that of the sedan and gives a more upscale feel. The interior is luxurious and stylish. There’s even a seatbelt handoff device that extends automatically from the B-pillar for the feeble of reach. a mini-plug audio input is standard, and an optional second-generation iPod interface lets you browse your songs and play lists with steering-wheel touch controls. Bluetooth phone connectivity is available, and BMW’s system is especially easy to use and clear-sounding. The iDrive satellite navigational system is optional.

BMW has done a very good job with this coupe and it will definitely turn heads. The headlights on this one are well designed and even the rear looks smooth. I would call this car more the business-class as it has more style as finesse that most cars out there.
