- Lamborghini’s new ad campaign
Here are some funny images from Lamborghini’s new ad campaign. The first one by far is the funniest and I wonder how many people will actually understand it when they see it at first shot. Incase you are wondering what’s shown there in the first image is a horse butcher shop. Does this mean that Lamborghini here is going to butcher the Ferrari? I mean, look! It shows a prancing horse on a shield and all! The second image is really just cute with small kids playing with toy Lamborghinis. And…I am lost on the last one, ha-ha. Anyways, you can see all of them for youself after the jump.

- Switzerland bans red-light & speed trap warning satnavs
As per the new laws introduced in Switzerland it is now against the law to sell GPS navigation devices that give the driver warnings about stationary and mobile radar traps as well as traffic light cameras. If a motorist was found using any such device they might face fines or even jail time in some cases. The authorities have send out a list of such equipments of banned devices to all the salespeople and include companies like the TomTom, Navman, Sony and ViaMichelin. Even though the companies claim that such features increases road safety the authorities think otherwise.

- It’s "war" on the German carmakers
The European commission has proposed new emissions standards to limit the amount of carbon-dioxide levels emitted by cars manufactured in Europe. According to the Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking it is a war on the German carmakers. He said that the new norms will hurt the German carmakers more severely than their French and Italian counterparts. Wiedeking went on to describe the limits as a war-like assault, adding “it is an attack on BMW, Mercedes, Audi and ourselves, this is a business war in Europe. We will fight.” Well…I for one think that Mr. CEO here is overreacting a bit. I honestly don’t think that the European Commission cares much about Porsche to wage a “war” on them, as the first thing on their mind is to reduce pollution and take care of global warming.

- Honda phone-sex toll free number
This story might be a bit old, but it sure is funny enough to be told once more. Long story short – Honda misprinted a toll-free number in the owner's manual of a number of Acura and Honda cars. The customer care number wasn’t what it was supposed to be, but the number to a phone-sex service. Just imagine, you being totally annoyed at a Honda car and wanting to yell at the first Honda executive you could get on the line, but instead you get a…well, you get the picture! The manuals affect were the ones printed between August 2006 and July 2006. Gives a whole new meaning to the term “customer care”.

- Rover V8 Coffee Tables
This actually made me laugh. The best coffee table I have ever seen as of yet! Now I know what my girlfriend would say when I get one of these – “guys!” with her eyes rolled. But it is a well established fact that boys will be boys and a V8 engine complete with shaft and pistons with a glass mounted on top means a great idea for a coffee table and even a great piece of art in some cases. Looking at the images you can also see there is place to keep wine bottles! Whoever did that sure has a creative mind and maybe it will inspire some of the car enthusiast out there to get one for their living room too! But yes, ask you wife/girlfriend if you want to get one. Ha-ha.

- Ferrari mobile phone
It’s official, as of today I have lost all respect for Ferrari and it’s not because of a car but a cell phone. The Motorola's MotoRAZR Maxx V6 Ferrari Challenge cell phone to be precise. I really don’t even need to justify this as most of you would agree with me that the RAZR is not that impressive and please don’t tell me it comes with a 3G HSDPA which gives a three digit browsing speed because I really don’t care. All I know is that Ferrari went out and got a company to represent them in the mobile market (just because the folks over at Lamborghini did it) and they picked up one of the worst handsets to represent themselves as a brand ambassador!

- Toyota's i-swing
Technological advancements are good. They help us develop faster and more powerful cars…and now even these “fast cars” are fuel efficient. Also there are improvements in other fields like personal safety and a number of add-ons that make these cars enjoyable. But there is a point when it just starts getting ridiculous, and this is one of those things. The Toyota i-swing is not technically a car but really a substitute for walk…yes walking! Why would anyone make such a ridiculous unit? Not don’t go telling me that it might be useful for the old or the sick, we have wheelchairs for that! Look like it is the day and age of dumb ideas like this at the Horntones.

- Driverless bus – Who wants to be first?
The driverless bus is a bold and brave new concept coming out of the U.K. It is as the name suggests indeed driverless and this “bus” can be hailed by you just with the help of you cell phone. It will run on an electric and biofuel hybrid platform and will be having a 12 to 24 passenger’s capacity. Just like the Mobileye AWS technology (which keeps you from getting too close to vehicles in front of you) this bus will come equipped with a similar system which will run by finding its way following magnets embedded in the road pavement and also will be using a satellite navigation and onboard sensors to control their speed and direction.

- Naro Car Concept
Here is a new concept vehicle by the folks over at Prodrive that gives you the comfort of a car but rides like a bike. The Naro concept weighs in at 300kg, is 2.5meters long (just like a smart car), and has the width of a motor bike and height of a Multi-purpose vehicle. This new cross-hybrid between a car and a bike has a high center of gravity and has to be leaned like a bike while going around turns and it has two seats just like a bike. However, this “bike” has four wheels.

- iPhone Integration – who will be first?
The Apple iPhone is the next best thing in mobile phones. Just like the iPod redefine MP3players, the iPhone will do the same for mobile phones. It is a no button all touch screen cell phone with a built in 8 GB iPod which is incidentally the worlds most advanced iPod. And to top it off it looks slim and sexy! So now…the question is which auto company will get their hands on it first? I mean, get something like the iPhone integrated in you cars line up and people are going to love it! Will it be BMW, the VW or some other company? However, there have been rumors going around that it is BMW that will get their hands on it first. For the BMW 7-series to be more precise! Our guess is the BMW is a strong contender than any for this type of integration as they got hole of the iPod first.

- Horntones - MP3s in car horns
MP3 is one such invention which has changed the way we think about music. Right from portable MP3 players to customized ringtones in mobile phones we have made good use of this invention. But here we have one such use of MP3s which by far is the dumbest! Just when you thought the streets couldn’t get more dangerous, here comes Horntones. Now don’t get me wrong, I am all for technological advancements and creativity. But at one point things just stop being very “technological and creative” and start getting “dangerous and stupid”. The Horntones is one such example and a very good one at that.

- BMW Air Camper - the dumb doughnut concept
Speaking of dumb ideas and something that looks very weird, this definitely tops my list of weird car accessories. It is a “BMW Air Camper” and a dumb concept in my opinion. Why wont the folk over at BMW stop coming up with such ridiculous idea? Talk about attracting attention! Anyways, this is what BMW has come up with, for BMW owners that like camping. It is a inflatable tent which can be inflated is by a low-voltage fan hooked up to the car’s cigarette lighter and attaches to the back end of the car, allowing campers to make use of the inside of the car.

- Seat Belt with Cell phone Compartment
Just as the title says…it is a seat belt with a cell phone compartment. Well, technically it is not a seat belt but sort-of a nylon bag that can be attached and detached as you like and placed on other stuff similar to the seat belt. So technically, it is a bag, but you get the idea! Anyways, bag or seat belt, it does help you carry you cell phone in the car with style. It is a clever little accessory and has a small compartment to keep the cell headphones. However, I wonder how many people will appreciate it for its style and convenience rather than be all stupid about it and consider this as something made to talk while driving!

- Top Gear - Bugatti Veyron Speed Test
Here is a video of the test run of Bugatti’s new Veyron done by Top Gear presenter, James May. The Veyron is the world fastest road car, which comes equipped with a 16-cylinder engine and four turbo-chargers, generating a lot of heat for which it needs 10 radiators. Watch James as he takes the car for a spin on VW’s test track in Germany and pushes it to its limit by reaching the Top Speed of the car. Words fail to describe the speed generated by the sheer 1001 hp on this beast. It is something you will have to see to believe.
