With almost everything getting embossed with, “the made in china” logo, it seems even the big brands of cars are getting the same. Toyota Motor Corp. produced its first made in-China Camry this week at their new factory. They hope that this will boost their speed to catch up with the competition in the world’s fastest growing car market. According to the company the spick-and-span Nansha facility brings it’s most superior technology to China. . Toyota enters the arena of world's automakers for a share of China's auto market, which saw sales shoot by 30 percent last year to 5.7 million vehicles.

To declare the creation of the diamond steering wheels, Steinmetz made to order the construction of an exact imitation of this year's Team McLaren Mercedes F1 car, made from two tons of ice. Kimi Raikkonen added to the celebration by sitting into the ice car. McLaren Mercedes and diamond creators Steinmetz unveiled their latest collaboration, a diamond steering wheel, to mark the 40th anniversary of the Formula One team. It’s not the first time these two are working in collaboration as last year there were diamond helmets for the team created specially by Steinmetz. Actually the steering wheel is not made of diamonds; it’s the star in the centre that has been decorated with round, dazzling cut, white, natural diamonds, proficiently cut by Steinmetz.

A Hummer will no more hum! Yes, it’s heart breaking news if you are a Hummer fanatic. General Motors are preparing to give a final salute to the hulking Hummer H1. It was 14 years back when the first Hummer went on sale to public. Hummer is the biggest and most expensive vehicle of GM. GM has decided that they will stop the production of H1 from the next month. Even with a price of more than $140,000 and fuel economy of just 10 miles gallon, buyers and celebrities like actor Arnold Schwarzenegger had snapped up the H1 when it first reached the market in 1992. 12,000 H1s have so far been sold to the general public, including 4,000 by GM, which bought the marketing rights to Hummer from AM General in 2000.

- Mitsubishi "i" Play Edition gets an iPod slot
Mitsubishi Japan has announced the play edition of the "i" eye car which comes with an iPod slot. Upon inserting your iPod Nano you can control the Nano from the huge 7" touchscreen. The "I' comes with a navigational device which is coupled with a 7" touchscreen and 30 GB hard drive. It also includes a CD drive however it can only play audio CD's and CD-R/RW discs it does not support MP3 playback. Also it is very surprising that you cannot play audio or video files from the mammoth 30GB hard drive. You can enjoy playback on the car's four speakers and two tweeters.

- Honda to add new hybrid, new diesel engine and 2 new plants in N.A.
In a move to fulfill it's "2010 Vision" established in 1998, Honda will be introducing a new low-cost hybrid in North America in 2009 that's expected to sell 200,000 units annually worldwide. The hybrid will be manufactured in the company;s Suzuka plant in Japan. Honda will be introducing a new four-cylinder direct-injection diesel engine in North America that's based on its offerings in Europe. Finally, Honda will invest $400 million in a new U.S. assembly plant that will be operational by 2008, as well as put another $140 million in a new engine plant in Canada. Another $125 million is being pledged to expand the company's engine, transmission and powertrain component facilities in Georgia and Ohio, as well.
